Robert Morgan

Robert Morgan has considered himself an artist since childhood. Born in Fayette County in 1963, he lived briefly in San Francisco, in the late 1960s.
Morgan works with found materials, recycling iconic objects from contemporary life into new and startling assemblages. There is a strong vein of social commentary flowing through his work, which is sometimes political, sometimes autobiographical, and often both.

Morgan lives in Lexington where he operates Gallery Soleil, a cooperative artist-run gallery that focuses on avant-garde, contemporary art. He claims the late Lexington artist Henry Faulkner as his most important artistic influence.
