Fei Jia earned his Ph.D. in Communication from Drexel University in 2019. His research aims to understand why people listen to music and to explore a range of factors that affect their music listening and music consumption behaviors. His current work focuses on how mood and individual differences affect music listening habits and decision-making processes on music streaming services. He also studies how international students use songs for cultural adaptation and friendship formation when studying in the U.S. His work has appeared in peer reviewed journals including Journal of International and Intercultural Communication and Journal of Intercultural Communication Research. Dr. Jia is also a part-time music reviewer and a guitar player.
