Morgan Byrne is a three-time Maier Award winning writer and instructor. Her graduate portfolio, comprised of both fiction and creative non-fiction, is an experiment in minimalism and the existential process of writing about the concept of “self.” Morgan’s creative work has been published in Et Cetera, Watersoup, and Anime Feminist, among others.
Her scholarly research focuses on the critical and popular reception of anime, with recent panel presentations covering everything from pedagogical use to discussions of trauma cycles in specific series, such as Code Geass. Her classes reflect this interest in non-traditional texts, often including them in activities and assignments to foster engagement.
