SFC David Morris

SFC MorrisLogistics Technician


David B. Morris was born in Gallipolis Ohio and now resides in Morehead where he has lived since 1980.  He was the parks and recreation director for the City of Morehead from 1994-2019 where he was recognized at the state level from the Kentucky Parks and Recreation Society. Recently retired, he now works as the logistics technician for the SROTC Dept. at Morehead State University where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1993. Morris has also continued to serve in the military in both an active component as well as a reserve component since 1986 and attains the rank of SFC with the 4-413th SROTC instructors’ battalion within cadet command. Morris has served in many capacities throughout his military career. After enlisting as a military police officer, he went on to be selected to an elite nine-man special reaction team where he later became an instructor on tactics and techniques in building clearing.  SFC Morris served at length as a senior drill instructor with the 100th Division I.T. for 14 years before becoming an instructor with cadet command.  His military awards include the following: Meritorious Service Medal, Joint Service Commendation Medal, Army Commendation Medal (with 2 Oak Leaf Cluster), Army Achievement Medal (with 3 Oak Leaf Clusters), Army Good Conduct Medal, Army Reserve Component Achievement Medal (with Gold Star), National Defense Service Medal, Afghan Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Armed Forces Reserve Medal (with “M” device), NCO Professional Development Ribbon, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon.
