Monica holds a BSW from the University of Kentucky, an MSSW from the University of Louisville, and is a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor.  Monica has clinical experience in the field of social work in areas of chemical dependency treatment and mental health counseling as well as child protective services.

Monica is the facilitator of the Social Work program at the MSU Mount Sterling campus and serves as the advisor for all social work majors at that campus.  She is the coordinator for the Chemical Dependency Counseling courses, and also teaches Social Work Generalist Practice, Generalist Practice Lab, Chemical Dependency Counseling, and Senior Seminar.

Research Interests:  clinical social work, chemical dependency, mental health, homelessness and poverty, alleviation, human trafficking and child welfare
