
MSU’s Department of Art & Design, MSU Athletics and the Student Government Association invite all students to enter a sidewalk chalk art competition.
- 9 a.m. Tuesday, March 2. Awards will be announced at 4 p.m.
- In front of the Bell Tower
- Open to currently enrolled MSU students (Individuals and or groups are welcome to participate).
THEME: Celebrate MSU - BLUE AND GOLD
Students wanting to participate need to sign up by Tuesday, Feb. 23, via
Eagle Link. Chalk and a designated space will be provided will provide chalk and no additional materials may be used. Students have from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. to create their master work celebrating the colors of MSU: Blue and Gold. This will be followed by three student jurors selecting prize winners.
Important information for artists
- All students participating must be currently enrolled as full-time students at MSU.
- Inclement weather dates will be either Wednesday, March 3, or Thursday, March 4 (weather permitting).
- All artwork should be appropriate for public viewing (no derogatory or inappropriate messages or themes, profanities or obscenities).
- Advising staff, including student committee members, reserve the right to remove any artwork deemed inappropriate including but not limited to, pictures, words and themes.
- No chalking anywhere outside of your designated space. Walls and buildings are completely off limits.
- Artwork will be judged on adherence to theme, creativity and quality of artworks.
