Dr. Schack has a record of research and publication in teacher development through work on multiple collaborative projects, including four National Science Foundation grants. She has been awarded more than $5 million in external grant funds. Dr. Schack has more than two dozen peer-reviewed publications and over 100 presentations and speaker events for local to international venues. She co-edited Teacher Noticing: Bridging and Broadening Perspectives, Contexts, and Frameworks published by Springer in 2017, garnering over 33,000 downloads. Currently, Dr. Schack is co-editing a special issue of ZDM Mathematics Education to be published in February 2021. Dr. Schack contributes through service on multiple committees at MSU and beyond.  Her current service includes Faculty Senate President-elect, the Prichard Committee Kentucky Collaborative for Families and Schools Advisory Council, and the Morehead-Rowan County-Lakeview Heights Planning Commission. Dr. Schack and her husband, Mark, live in the Morehead community where work, parks, bookstore, coffee shops, restaurants, bakery, and brewery are a short walk from home. Their four adult children and son-in-law visit to enjoy the local lake and forest activities.
