The Master of Science in Career and Technical Education - Agriculture is structured to allow individuals to pursue career advancement in agriculture-based career and technical programs at the secondary and postsecondary level in teaching and administration, or to prepare technologists with advanced technical management skills of personnel training and facilities.

Program Requirements

  • Course List
  • General admission to graduate study.
  • Satisfy one of the following
    •  A minimum GRE score of 285 (current scale) in two subjects, or
    • Undergraduate GPA X GRE = 855.

Additional Requirements

  1. Be unconditionally admitted to the program.
  2. Successfully complete and defend a thesis or pass both a written and oral comprehensive exit examination (passing grade for written examination = 70%).
  3. Must complete the required course work with a minimum graduate cumulative 3.0 GPA.

The Master of Science in Career and Technical Education-Agriculture is designed to prepare students for positions such as agriculture teacher, technical school principal, KCTCS faculty, KCTCS administrator, program coordinator, chair and dean.
