The associate's degree program in Respiratory Care at Morehead State prepares you for a health care career in as little as two and a half years. Upon graduation, you will be eligible to register as a respiratory therapist with the National Board for Respiratory Care.

A degree in respiratory care from Morehead State prepare you for positions at hospitals, nursing homes, physician's offices, home health agencies and specialized care hospitals.

The respiratory care program has a selective admission procedure. Enrollment in the program is limited. Students seeking admission must apply to the program by Nov. 15 of each year. 

Respiratory care is an associate degree program offered by the Northeast Kentucky Consortium for Respiratory Care. In this program, Maysville Community & Technical College has joined with Ashland Community & Technical College  and Morehead State University to offer respiratory care education which meets the standards of the  Committee on Accreditation for Respiratory Care. Students completing this program will be awarded an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Respiratory Care and be a registry-eligible respiratory therapist. The student will complete all admission requirements, receive financial aid, register for classes, and pay tuition and fees at their home institution. General education courses are taken on the campus of your home institution. The respiratory courses are offered at the Rowan County campus of the Maysville Community and Technical College through an agreement between all institutions.

1. Completion of BIOL 234: Human Anatomy, MATH 135: Math for Technical Students, FYS 101:  First Year Seminar
  COMS 108:  Oral Communication, and ENG 100: Writing I with a grade of "C" or better.
2. Students desiring admission must submit the following application materials by Nov. 15:
  • Application for admission to the college/university.
  • Respiratory Care Program Admission Application form.
  • ​ACT scores or equivalent.
  • Official high school transcript or GED certificate.
  • Official transcripts of all post-secondary course work.
