Dr. Lisa Wallace is a Morehead State University Bachelor of Science in Nursing alumni. She has over 28 years as a Registered Nurse. She advanced her knowledge by completing her Master of Science in Nursing at Walden University, with a leadership/management focus and completed her Doctor of Nursing Practice at Eastern Kentucky University in Organizational Leadership. She maintains two national certifications: Inpatient Obstetrics and Nurse Executive Basic. Her experience includes over 20 years serving as a nursing leader through roles such as inpatient hospital house coordinator, charge nurse, nurse manager, and director. Wallace also served a dual role adding inpatient hospital interim staff nursing educator.

Wallace's expertise encompasses obstetrics, neonates, children, leadership and management. Wallace worked as at MSU as adjunct clinical nursing faculty for obstetrics prior to assuming her full-time nursing instructor position. Wallace is currently an Assistant Professor of Nursing pursuing Tenure. Wallace is a TeamSTEPPS Master Trainer, a Basic Life Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Advanced Life Support in Obstetrics, and Neonatal Resuscitation Program instructor. She served over six years as the Kentucky Organization of Nurse Leaders Bluegrass District Leader and a remains a member today. Other professional organizational memberships include: National League for Nursing/Kentucky League of Nursing; Sigma Theta Tau; Omega Lambda Nu; American Nurses Association/Kentucky Nurses Association; and Association of Women's Health, Obstetric, and Neonatal Nurses.

Special projects Wallace has worked on include introducing the Annual Nursing Competency Fair at St. Claire and starting the Annual Community Baby Shower in Morehead. Previously, she received a March of Dimes grant to reduce preterm labor/birth. Her doctoral project focus was on implementing a Staff Responsive Intervention Bundle to Improve Patient Satisfaction in an acute care hospital. In addition, she has presented evidence-based practice posters at various conferences. She welcomes and enjoys public speaking and professional networking.
