Dr. Kevin Adkins

Kevin Adkins was born and raised in Eastern Kentucky. He is a 2011 graduate of Morehead State University, where he earned bachelor's degrees in both physics and mathematics. Upon completion of his degrees at Morehead State, he attended the University of Kentucky to begin his graduate work in physics. In 2017, he completed his Ph.D. and moved into a one-year teaching postdoc at UK before returning to Morehead State as a visiting assistant professor. In his spare time, Kevin enjoys spending time with his beautiful wife and daughter and hunting and fishing in the hills of Eastern Kentucky.

Research Interests:

  • Accelerator based high-energy nuclear physics: studying spin distributions of the proton’s constituents
  • Small-scale laboratory tests of fundamental physical principles
  • Computational data analysis and modeling
