Profile

Joe Curd earned both his bachelor's degree and master's degrees from Virginia Tech with an emphasis on studies in urban planning, land use regulation, land surveying and mapping and civil engineering and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Technology Management, Construction Management option, from Indiana State University. Curd has owned and managed a land surveying and civil engineering firm in Morehead since 1985. Before assuming his current role as an instructor in the Department of Engineering and Technology Management, he was an adjunct lecturer at MSU in both the in that department as well as the Department of Earth and Space Sciences. In addition to teaching at MSU, Curd serves as the Morgan County surveyor and flood plain coordinator and Rowan County subdivision coordinator. Curd says what he enjoys most about teaching is his students.
