Research Interests

Enhancing motor performance through non-invasive brain stimulation techniques such as transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS) and transcranial magnetic stimulation.

Bio

Michaela recently joined Morehead State University as an instructor of kinesiology in the department of Kinesiology, Health and Imaging Sciences. Before her time at Morehead, she taught in the department of kinesiology for Indiana University Indianapolis (IUI) from 2017-2023, while also completing her master’s and finishing up her PhD in kinesiology with a concentration in motor control. She is published in multiple peer-reviewed articles in national journals and has presented at conferences at the local and national level. She has experience teaching a variety of disciplines within kinesiology such as fitness management, personal training, motor development, exercise science, and strength and conditioning. Her current research involves non-invasive brain stimulation as a mechanism to enhance motor control.
