MSU Choral Festival
Join us for Morehead State University's 62nd Annual Choral Festival for High School Singers. The festival takes place on Monday and Tuesday, Nov. 14-15, 2022.
We will have two honor choirs: an SATB Chorus directed by one Dr. James Rodde, Director of Choral Activities at Iowa State University and an SSAA Chorus directed by Dr. Meg Frazier, Director of Choral Activities at Loyola University New Orleans. This may be a “once in a lifetime” opportunity for your students to sing under the direction of such esteemed conductors. Your students will have a great time learning during their two days with us!
Our clinicians have selected repertoire that they feel your students will enjoy rehearsing and performing. They have included a wide variety of styles. The SATB Chorus will be one of the first choirs to perform Elaine Hagenberg’s new piece, “Measure Me Sky!" scheduled to be published in mid-August. Both choirs will be assisted by our MSU percussion students. Each choir has pieces that will be attractive to your own choirs and I know your students will enjoy working on this music.
