OperaWorks Spring Concert
In honor of Lenten season and Holy Monday, Morehead State University OperaWorks will present a special performance.
The concert titled “Soli Deo Gloria” (to God alone is the glory) takes place at 7:30 p.m. Monday, March 25, at Jesus Our Savior Catholic Church, 315 Battson Oates Drive in Morehead.
The concert will feature a variety of music that is sacred but not limited to music for the church. Selections include songs from “The Sound of Music,” “Carousel,” “Fiddler on the Roof,” “Godspell,” and “Jesus Christ, Superstar.” There are also operatic excerpts from Verdi's Nabucco and other sacred favorites, including Schubert's “Ave Maria,” Malotte's “The Lord Prayer,” familiar spirituals, and Handel oratorios will fill the program.
