Star Theater Special Event - Solar Eclipse
Solar Eclipse Celebration
Join us for a special event to celebrate the Solar Eclipse. We'll have full-dome shows and live TV coverage. You can view the eclipse on the patio (we'll have a limited number of eclipse-viewing glasses). The MSU Tuba Euphonium Ensemble will also perform as part of the Spring Tubafest.
Another viewing event will be hosted by MSU physics faculty from noon to 3 p.m. in front of Lappin Hall.
Dr. Wilson González-Espada will also be set up in the Adron Doran University Center (ADUC) Room 311 with a Lightsound device and speakers. This device converts the light intensity of the eclipse to sounds to provide multisensory learning opportunities, especially for those who are blind or have visual impairments.
STAR THEATER
The Space Science Center's Star Theater at Morehead State University is a state-of-the-art digital planetarium serving the surrounding area of Eastern Kentucky. The planetarium offers public shows on second and fourth Saturdays throughout the year on a first-come, first-served basis; reservations do not need to be made in advance. Tickets may be purchased with cash or a check at the door. We cannot take credit cards. Typically, a planetarium show includes a special feature from our extensive program library as well as a tour of the night sky. We offer laser shows on Saturdays throughout the year.
