Family Weekend Activities

Family Weekend allows friends and family to visit their students on campus and participate in various activities, including sports, student organizations, and more.

Schedule of Events

FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 6

• Family Weekend Check-in, 6-9 p.m., Bell Tower - Pick up your Registration Tags and Family Weekend vouchers.
• Eagle Family Cookout, 6-9 p.m., Adron Doran University Center Plaza and Fields Hall Lawn. The Office of Student Activities and Aramark will host an evening of food, games and prizes.
• Music in the Downtown Morehead Entertainment District: The Ginns and MSU Students will perform onstage at the Battson-Oates Commons behind ADUC.

SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 7

• Continued Check-in, 9 a.m.-10:30 a.m., The Rocky Adkins Dining Commons (The Rock). If you did not check in Friday evening, complete your registration and pick up your Family Weekend Bag and food vouchers at The Rock.
• Brunch, 9-11 a.m., The Rocky Adkins Dining Commons - free with registration provided by the Office of Student Activities.
• Kappa Delta's COLOR ME KAYDEE 5K color run to benefit Prevent Child Abuse America and the Gateway Children's Foundation, 9 a.m., $25 registration fee, includes t-shirt and sunglasses while supplies last. Check-in is at the Little Bell Tower.
• Recreation and Wellness Center, ALL DAY—free entrance. Due to insurance regulations, children under 16 can only use the swimming pool. Over 16s can use all exercise equipment and courts.
• Maker's Market, 11 a.m.-3 p.m. - Rowan County Arts Center Lawn (on Main Street directly behind ADUC) Live Music by Liz Bowman.
• Star Theater free show, 1:30 p.m., at the Space Science Center.
• Tailgate Party, 4-6 p.m., Food Trucks or Concession Stand, $5 voucher provided by the Office of Student Activities and Campus Activities Board.
• MSU Football Game, 6 p.m., MSU vs. Kentucky Christian at Jayne Stadium, Gold Rush - so wear your gold gear; fireworks after the game. Tickets are $10 each for families - who register through the Office of Student Activities. Please let us know how many you want to purchase by Thursday, September 5, at 4 p.m.
