Martin Luther King Day Celebration - Postponed

Update 1-19-25: Due to inclement weather, these activities are postponed until February.
We invite you to join us on Monday, January 20, 2025, as we come together to celebrate the life and enduring legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
This special evening will provide an opportunity to reflect on Dr. King's remarkable contributions to justice, equality, and peace while reaffirming our commitment to these shared ideals.
This event is open to the entire campus community, and we encourage students, faculty, staff, and friends to attend. Let us unite in celebration and remembrance as we honor the values Dr. King exemplified and strived to uphold.
The events planned for the evening include:
- 6 p.m. - Candlelight March
Begins at the Prefontaine Tower (East entrance) to ADUC by the fireplace.
Join us for a peaceful and inspiring march across campus. Candles will be provided. Please wear warm clothing and comfortable shoes. We will travel the campus loop from University Street to University Boulevard and back to ADUC weather permitting. An alternate route or indoor location will be taken if needed
Light refreshments will be available following the march as we gather in fellowship and community.
- 7 p.m. - Special Guest Speaker and/or Movie
Location: ADUC Theatre - 1st floor
Engage with a dynamic speaker who will share reflections on Dr. King’s legacy, followed by a screening of a powerful film honoring his work.
Student Life
From living on campus to outdoor adventures, we strive to create a sense of community that offers safe environments for students to live and learn. There are activities and organizations for engagement outside the classroom and events that promote cultural awareness. We also offer opportunities for student leadership and participation.
