66th Annual Celebration of Musical Excellence

Join us for the 66th Annual Event, Feb. 13–15, 2025! This exciting gathering will showcase the talents of 210 outstanding students selected through a highly competitive audition process with 280 submissions. These students represent 38 high schools across Kentucky and Ohio, bringing together the best young musicians in the region.

In addition to the student performances, 44 dedicated school band directors, including 21 proud Morehead State University alumni, will be in attendance. Their passion and guidance have helped shape the next generation of musical talent.

Participating high school seniors will be allowed to audition for admission to the MSU Music program on Saturday. It’s a weekend filled with inspiration, talent, and the chance to take the next step in a musical journey. Don’t miss this celebration of excellence in music education!

Music, Theatre & Dance

The Department of Music, Theatre & Dance prepares students for careers in education, performance, and as professionals in the performing arts. Students can explore undergraduate and graduate programs that prepare them for careers as educators, performers, or professionals. Students have opportunities to participate in various performances and ensembles and engage with the community, state, and region.
