New Student Convocation

🎓  Join us for the New Student Convocation on Friday from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. in Button Auditorium.

New Student Convocation is the University’s official welcoming ceremony for entering students.

New Student Convocation is one of only two occasions when the University president and other academic leaders speak to the class. The other, of course, is the graduation ceremony, Commencement. These two events are the seminal “bookend” events of every student's college career.

This special event welcomes new Eagles to the Morehead State community and marks the beginning of the academic year with inspiration, pride, and school spirit. 🦅💙💛

Dress is casual, and the MSU After Dark Block Party will follow.

This event is mandatory for new students.

Student Activities

MSU offers more than 100 student clubs and organizations. You can explore your interests in everything from politics and social issues to academics, athletics and faith. You can join a fraternity or sorority or perform on the field at halftime with the MSU Marching Band. MSU also offers Tau Sigma and the National Honor Society for Transfer Students.

Student Activities organizes events that attract nationally recognized performers and speakers. Events like Family Weekend, Greek Week and the Homecoming Parade bring together students, their families and alums.
