Folk Lore, Folk Tales & Folk Art
Celebrate Kentucky’s rich storytelling and artistic traditions at the Kentucky Folk Art Center’s closing reception for "Folk Lore, Folk Tales & Folk Art" on Nov. 4 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
The evening features a Bigfoot lecture by Dr. Royal Berglee (5 p.m. to 6 p.m.), followed by an artist reception (6 p.m. to 7 p.m.) and awards at 6:30 p.m.
The exhibition runs Oct. 20 through Nov. 4.
The Kentucky Folk Art Center (KFAC) is one of Kentucky's unique places. The center houses a permanent collection of nearly 1,400 pieces of regional folk art. The works displayed portray the culture and heritage of Appalachia.
Throughout the year, rotating exhibits in the center's first-floor gallery and new exhibits in the second-floor gallery feature folk and fine art, textiles, photography, and historical content. KFAC also has a gift shop offering original folk art, crafts, and more.
KFAC hosts or sponsors cultural events and activities, including the Appalachian Holiday Arts and Crafts Fair, held on the first Saturday in December each year.
