Battle of the Bands 2026

Morehead State University and the Downtown Morehead Entertainment Initiative will host a Battle of the Bands on Saturday, April 18, 2026, from 12 p.m. to 9 p.m. in the Battson-Oates Entertainment Area next to Sawstone Brewing Co.

Hosted by the MSU Jazz Ensemble, the event will feature performances from MSU and regional groups, including the Marshall University Jazz Ensemble, MSU Jazz Combo, Campbell County High School Jazz Ensemble and the UK Jazz Ensemble.

The daylong event offers live music, community engagement and a showcase of student and regional talent in a vibrant downtown setting.

The Department of Music & Theatre prepares students for careers in education, performance, and professional performing arts. Students can explore undergraduate and graduate programs that prepare them for careers as educators, performers, or professionals. Students also have opportunities to participate in various performances and ensembles and engage with the community, state, and region.
