Light Pollution Outreach Event
Morehead State University physics faculty and students will host a hands-on light pollution education outreach event on Friday, April 17, 2026, at 6 p.m. at the Rowan County Public Library.
Faculty members Kevin Adkins, Jennifer Birriel, John Waite and Ignacio Birriel, along with MSU students, will lead an interactive investigation into light pollution, its negative effects and practical ways to reduce it. Attendees will use tabletop kits to explore how different types of lighting impact nighttime conditions and test potential solutions.
The event is free and open to the public!
