Hallelujah Anyway: A Portrait of Kentucky
The Kentucky Folk Art Center will host Portrait of Kentucky, a photography exhibit by Louisville-based artist Michael Morris, from August 1 to Dec. 1.
The public is invited to an opening reception on August 1 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Shot on black and white film with a vintage Hasselblad camera, the exhibit features images captured over 14 years and 250,000 miles of travel across the state.
Inspired by the work of Depression-era photographers, Morris documents vanishing landscapes, small towns, and everyday life in the Commonwealth. The center is open Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The exhibit has been accepted to be featured in the 2025 Louisville Photo Biennial.
