Healthy at the Rec
We have worked diligently over the last few weeks to ensure we follow the Kentucky Department of Health “Healthy at Work” and “Fitness Center Guidelines” to create a safe environment to have people back in the Recreation & Wellness Center.

Yes, Governor Andy Beshear has mandated that gyms require patrons to wear masks at all time, including while exercising. This mandate goes into effect on Friday, November 202020. We plan to keep the mask requirement mandate in place until we close on December 18.
Yes. We ask that people do not gather in groups and maintain at least 6 feet of distance from other users and staff members. We have placed social distance markers throughout the facility.
Once we reach capacity, we ask people to form a line outside the main entrance on the sidewalk in front of the building. Members will not be allowed to wait inside the building due to social distancing guidelines.
  • Users will be allowed into the facility on a 1 and 1 basis once capacity is reached.
Anyone who had an active membership with us when we closed due to COVID-19 will have their membership reactivated on July 6.
  • Semester Memberships have been extended until August 31.
  • Annual Memberships have been extended until November 30.
  • Monthly memberships will be reactivated on July 6 with the next credit card draft occurring on July 15. Our regular monthly billing policy will remain in place upon reopening.
Yes, we are accepting new members. New members will be required to provide a phone number and email to ensure we have the proper contact tracing information for the health department.

All lockers have been cleaned out and personal items bagged. Anyone who had a locker can request their items at the front desk during our regularly scheduled hours. Upon your request, a staff member will bring your items to you. Members have until Dec. 18, 2020 to retrieve their locker items.
Our last group fitness class will take place on Thursday, November 19, 2020. Per Governor Andy Beshear’s mandate, we are required to cease all group fitness classes effective Friday, November 20, 2020.  
Yes. We plan to offer intramural programming, however, our offerings will not be the same as previous years. All of our programming will follow the guidelines set by the Kentucky Department of Health.
Due to social distancing guidelines, the recreation and wellness staff will not spot any members during their lifts. Members may spot each other.
  • We encourage users to “lift smart” and perform exercises that do not require a spotter.
