What to expect for move-in

Move-in Day Video

Before Move-in Day

  • Familiarize yourself with the Morehead State Student Conduct Code and the Housing Resident Handbook
  • Check your family’s homeowners/renters insurance to ensure valuables you bring to campus are covered.
  • Talk to your roommates several times before move-in. Share academic plans, common interests, and what each of you will be bringing for the room’s set up. If possible, meet in person so you can begin to get to know one another better.
  • Review our items to bring page to ensure you’re bringing the right things!
  • Most students bring far too many items. The best advice we’ve heard is to set everything out you want to bring, pack it all up, then bring one half that amount.
  • Make sure you arrive before any scheduled packages, deliveries, or items do. Belongings or online purchases should arrive after you have officially checked in.
  • Share your mailing address with family and friends! Mail should be addressed to you in the following manner:
    • Student Name
      Morehead State University
      Room Number, Hall Name
      Morehead, KY 40351
