The Department of Psychology offers a number of programs that allow you to customize your degree to suit your interests and abilities. We offer small class sizes, ensuring you’ll get personal, one-on-one attention from experienced, knowledgeable faculty members, all of whom hold Ph.D.s, who are committed to your success. They can also help connect you with additional resources, including tutoring to help you prepare for your next exam and academic advising to help you choose the best path to completing your degree.
The department has laboratory space for a wide variety of psychological research. As a student, you'll have the opportunity to work side-by-side with faculty members as early as your freshman year through our Undergraduate Research Fellowship Program. You'll have the opportunity to present your findings at MSU's annual Celebration of Student Scholarship and at state, regional and national professional conferences, and could have your work published in an undergraduate research journal.
If you're a Kentucky Community and Technical College (KCTC) student with an associate degree in psychology, you can earn your bachelor's degree in psychology at MSU in only two years.
The best way to learn more about the Department of Psychology is to schedule a campus visit, where you’ll tour our facilities, have the chance to sit in on classes and meet faculty and current students.
