Probation & Suspension

Due to unprecedented times this past spring semester resulting from the pandemic, MSU is providing flexibility and continued support to our students with GPAs below guidelines. As such, the standard academic probation and suspension policies have been amended to allow students to continue taking courses in the fall 2020 semester even if the MSU cumulative GPA is below scholastic standing guidelines. This means that students with a GPA below guidelines (see UAR 123.08) are not subject to academic suspension for the fall semester even if they were already on academic probation for the spring 2020 semester. Students in this category will be required to participate in the Academic Recovery Program. This program is designed to provide direct access to resources and support focused on academic success.

Students with a GPA below guidelines who were not already on academic probation for spring 2020 semester will receive an academic warning and be encouraged to participate in the Academic Recovery Program or the fall.
