mtd-thumb-symbiosisduo.webpDr. Gail Robertson (euphonium) and Dr. Stacy Baker (tuba) formed SymbiosisDuo in 2007, and released albums Symbiosis in 2009, Playground in 2015. The duo was featured at the 2017 Leonard Falcone International Euphonium Festival, the 2019 International Tuba Euphonium Conference, and will travel to Japan for the 2024 International Women’s Brass Conference. They look forward to the release of their 3rd album Dreams, Dances, and Destinations in 2024.

Dr. Gail Robertson is Associate Professor of Tuba/Euphonium, University of Central Arkansas; Past President - International Tuba Euphonium Association and International Women’s Brass Conference; Vice President - Athena Brass Band; Willson and Warburton International Euphonium Artist; Brass Band of Battle Creek; and BOD - Falcone Festival and Wind and Rhythm. She was honored with ITEA’s Clifford Bevan Award for Excellence in Research for “Restoring the Euphonium’s Legacy as Cello of the Wind Band.” Dr. Robertson has published articles, reviews, and compositions in British Brass Band World, Bandworld, and the International Tuba Euphonium Association’s, ITEA Journal.

Dr. Stacy Baker is Professor of Music - Tuba/Euphonium, Morehead State University, 2016-2017 Distinguished Creative Productions Award recipient and 2014-2015 Distinguished Teacher. She is founding member of Monarch Brass, the Athena Brass Band, and the R.S.V.B. and JUNCTION tuba/euphonium quartets. She has served on the board of directors of the International Tuba Euphonium Association and the International Women’s Brass Conference, and as co-editor of the IWBC Newsletter. Her feature article: “Making and Maintaining a Great Lip-Reed” appeared in the September 2019 edition of the ArbanZone online magazine.
