The Sonography Conference at Morehead State University will be held May 15–16, 2026, from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Friday and 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, offering 14 SDMS continuing education credits across two days of professional learning.
Designed for practicing sonographers, this conference brings together expert educators and clinicians for in-depth sessions focused on clinical excellence, professional wellness, and emerging trends in sonography. Attendees may register for one day or both days, with meals included each day.

Kevin Duncan, MSRS, R.R.A., R.T.(R)(ARRT), RDMS, RVT
Kevin Duncan is a Registered Radiologist Assistant (RA) in the Department of Radiology at UK HealthCare Chandler Hospital in Lexington, KY. He is recognized as the first RA at UKHC, having started his duties in late January 2025. Mr. Duncan earned his Master of Science in Radiologic Sciences - Radiologist Assistant degree from Midwestern State University in Texas and his undergraduate degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography from Morehead State University in Kentucky. He holds multiple professional credentials, including Registered Radiologist Assistant [R.R.A.], Radiologic Technologist [R.T.(R)], Diagnostic Medical Sonographer in Abdomen, Obstetrics and Gynecology [RDMS], and Vascular Technology [RVT]. His primary focus is performing fluoroscopy procedures and teaching fluoroscopic techniques to radiology residents and Radiologist Assistant students. Additionally, Mr. Duncan has served as an elected senator of the University of Kentucky Staff Senate since 2017, participating in and chairing various committees, most recently serving as chair of the Healthcare Administration Council (HAC). Before his RA career, Mr. Duncan was the Lead Radiology Sonographer at UK HealthCare Good Samaritan Hospital in Lexington, KY, for 15 years. He has published articles in Ultrasound Quarterly and spoken at numerous local, state, and national conferences. Mr. Duncan lives in Nicholasville, Kentucky, with his wife and three children, and enjoys outdoor activities and coaching his children in their sports.
Megan Meade RDMS (OBGYN/AB) RDCS (FE)
Megan graduated from the imaging program at Morehead State in 2010. She has over 13 years of MFM experience. She has also worked alongside a pediatric cardiologist. During her career she developed a passion for the fetal heart, not only learning more about it, but also eaching fellow sonographers.
In 2021 she founded Viable Solutions LLC, a sonographer education company, with a focus on the fetal heart. Megan has created many products to help sonographers and students build their skills and better understand heart anatomy. She also provides hands-on training and online courses, both of which contribute to continuing medical education for sonographers. She has traveled all over the country to help fellow sonographers and college students increase their knowledge and gain confidence in their scanning abilities.

Allison Justice, RDCS, RVT, BA, AAS
Allison is a cardiovascular sonographer at a local hospital with nearly a decade of experience. Prior to returning to the clinical setting, she was an Echocardiography Instructor and Clinical Coordinator at MedQuest College in Lexington, Kentucky for 6 years. She is a two-time recipient of COTC's Best Clinical Instructor Award (2018, 2019) and recently received BB Imaging's Honorable Mention for Distinguished Educators in 2024, reflecting her strong commitment to excellence in sonography education. Allison has performed and taught a wide range of cardiac and vascular examinations and was recognized for student success while teaching, maintaining a near 100% credentialing rate among her echo graduates. She enjoys serving her community and has been a volunteer instructor for the International Foundation for Sonography Education and Research at the Global Missions Health Conference, been a Team Lead at the Central Kentucky Heart Walk and remains an Advisory Board Member for the Central Ohio Technical College sonography program. She is passionate about bridging cardiac and vascular concepts to enhance diagnostic accuracy and improve patient outcomes.
Trevor Roberts, BHA, RDCS
Trevor is a 2008 graduate of Georgia Northwestern Technical College in Rome, GA, holding an Associate of Applied Science degree in Echocardiography. He has been the lead Echocardiography instructor at GNTC for five years and was an adjunct instructor for eight years prior. He has served as the chair of the Academic Affairs leadership team at GNTC, sings the National Anthem at each fall graduation, and has been a Rick Perkins Instructor of the Year nominee twice. The Echocardiography program, under Trevor’s leadership, has seen a total of 45 graduates, with 43 passing the ARDMS Adult Echo registry exam. He has worked at inpatient and outpatient facilities in North Georgia and Southern Tennessee, gaining knowledge and experience through clinical practice and education. He earned a bachelor's degree in healthcare administration from Reinhardt University in 2019, and is currently enrolled at Jacksonville State University, earning an MBA in Organizational Leadership. Trevor also works one weekend a month at a local hospital because he enjoys the patient interaction. Trevor has been married to his wife, Kendall, a high school teacher and volleyball coach, for 13 years, and they have two kids, Lauren and CoraLeigh, who are involved in soccer, volleyball, and basketball. Outside of work, he enjoys trout fishing, card games, working out early in the morning, and chasing his family around to various events. Trevor is excited to be present at this conference to continue his commitment to education in cardiac sonography.
Jarrod Plank, PT, DPT
Dr. Jarrod Plank is a Morehead native who received his Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science from Morehead State University in 2019 on a pre-physical therapy track. He then attended Marshall University where he completed his Doctor of Physical Therapy studies in 2023. Dr. Plank now serves as an Assistant Professor of Kinesiology at MSU and performs his clinical practice at UK St. Claire in the areas of acute care and inpatient rehabilitation.
Cyndi Peterson MPH,RT,RDMS,RVT
Cyndi Peterson is the program director of the diagnostic medical sonography program at Kent State University - Salem Campus in Salem, Ohio. She earned a Master of Public Health from Kent State University and a Bachelor of Science in Allied Health from Youngstown State University. Cyndi holds ARDMS registries in Ob/Gyn, Abdominal, Breast, Pediatric Sonography and Vascular Technology. Her research interests include contrast enhanced ultrasound and prevention of musculoskeletal injuries in sonographers.
Cyndi has nearly 40 years of sonography experience and maintains an active clinical role as a sonographer at Southwoods Imaging in Youngstown, Ohio. Cyndi is passionate about educating sonographers.
Tom Collins, BS, RT(R), RDMS (AB, BR, OB/GYN, RVT)
Tom Collins is a seasoned diagnostic medical sonographer and registered radiologic technologist with over 20 years of clinical experience. After graduating from Morehead State University with an Associate of Applied Science in Radiologic Science in 2005, he continued his education at the same institution, earning a Bachelor of Science in Diagnostic Medical Sonography in 2006.
Board-certified by the ARDMS in Abdomen, Breast, Obstetrics/Gynecology, and Vascular Technology, Tom has developed deep expertise across a broad spectrum of ultrasound specialties. Since completing his training, he has pursued a dynamic career in locum tenens and travel sonography, serving hospitals, outpatient centers, vascular labs, women’s imaging facilities, and mobile imaging services throughout the United States.
A highlight of his career includes providing ultrasound services with the Lakota Sioux Nation through the Indian Health Service (IHS) on a reservation, where he delivered diagnostic imaging in resource-variable and culturally unique environments.
Known for his technical precision, strong patient communication, and adaptability in fast-paced and challenging clinical settings, Tom remains dedicated to delivering high-quality diagnostic imaging and contributing to the ongoing advancement of medical ultrasound practice.
Vanessa Brown, RDMS/RDCS
Vanessa is an experienced diagnostic medical sonographer based in Louisville, Ky. Vanessa holds an Associate of Science degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography and is registered with ARDMS in Abdomen and OB/GYN as well as RDCS in Fetal Echocardiography. She has over 10 years’ experience in an academic OB/GYN setting including Maternal-Fetal Medicine, Complex benign gynecology and general OB/GYN, along with more than a decade of experience in general radiology. She has previously presented at an SMDS virtual seminar and is a recent co-author of an AIUM journal article on sonographic correlation in deep-infiltrating endometriosis. She was also presenter at the 2026 Endometriosis Imaging Congress in Miami in February of 2026. Vanessa is passionate about advancing sonographic education and improving diagnostic imaging through evidence-based care and education.
Maddison Herring, RVT
Maddison is from Nicholasville, Kentucky, and currently lives in Lancaster, Kentucky, with her husband, daughter, and two doggos. She has an associate’s degree in vascular sonography from BCTC, and is currently working on her bachelor’s degree in health science at SNHU. She have been working in the ultrasound field for a little over 5 years now. The first four of those years were at Baptist Health Lexington, and the last year and a half have been in the UK vascular lab. Her favorite exams to perform are Portals, Fistulas and AAA repairs.
