Services & Benefits
We are here to help you accomplish your goals! Student Services Support Teacher Prep provides holistic support to students from the moment they enter the program through graduation.
We offer:
- Free Computer Lab: Visit the SSS office or the NEST (Ginger 304) to use our computers.
- Free Printing: Print school assignments or personal documents for free.
- Supplies & Planning: Stop by any staff office for free notebooks, pens, and highlighters, and get help building an efficient study plan. Need a supply for a class, SSS may be able to purchase them.
- Test Prep Materials: Borrow study guides for the Praxis, ACT, GRE, GMAT, LSAT, or MCAT. Just ask an SSS staff member.
- Tutoring: SSS employs 2 tutors who specialize in STEM but can assist with other classes at MSU. Students also have access to 24/7 tutoring through tutor.com, which has professional tutors for most subjects and can assist with test prep and provide feedback on papers.
- Free Educational Trips: Each semester, we take students on 1-2 educational trips. These include an experiential component, such as a Broadway-style musical or dinner theater, and we also visit a graduate school. Transportation and food are provided. Past trips have included Hamilton, Six, Dinner Theatre at the KY Castle, etc. These are free to participants, and there is no expectation that you will attend graduate school, but we want you to be aware of the possibilities of graduating from MSU.
- Advising & Mentoring: Stop in to talk to any of us. We want students to check in at least once a month. We can help you find solutions to problems, whether they are personal, family, roommate, financial aid, or professor problems. If you have a problem, we can help or find someone who can. Just ask!
- Success Workshops: Choose from 20+ fun, informative, and interactive sessions per semester on topics like study abroad, financial literacy, financial aid, preparing for the career and internship fair, completing your FAFSA, and more! We also provide 24/7 access to Nucleus.com, where you can access workshops on your own.
