Bio

My name is Shalyn Adams, and I am a Guidance Counselor at the Craft Academy of Excellence in Science and Mathematics, where I have the opportunity to work with intelligent 11th and 12th-grade students who have the opportunity to live on MSU’S campus and take college courses while finishing high school. I work with students on academic, social/emotional, and career needs, whether that be in a group setting or talking individually with a student.

I graduated from Morehead State University (MSU) in May 2019 with a Master’s degree in School Counseling and a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work in May 2017. I am currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Adult and Higher Education and plan to graduate in May 2024; where I hope to continue my education by getting my doctorate (Ed.D.) in Adult and Higher Education Leadership.

I have worked in different departments on MSU’s campus since I was an undergraduate student in 2013, from the University Bookstore, Career Services, Enrollment Services, and Upward Bound and found my passion in wanting to help students in higher education.
