Degrees, Licensures and Certifications: Ed.D. and MS curriculum and instruction (botany, zooarchaeology, social studies), BA anthropology; KY certified teacher biology, chemistry, physics, social studies and middle grades science; EdTPA secondary social studies peer reviewer; Quality Matters master reviewer and consultant.

Research Interests: Dr. Lennex researches, presents, and publishes on technology integration for P-16 schools (3D, apps, etc.), chemistry, physics, social studies curriculum and engagement, and occasionally ethnobotany.

Bio

Dr. Lesia Lennex received her doctorate in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. She is currently a Professor of Education in the Department of Teacher Education and Program Lead for Secondary Social Studies Education. She is a Morehead State University Distinguished Researcher (2012-2013) and a Scholarship and Student Engagement featured faculty member (2017-2018). The Kentucky Senate recognized her for Workforce Development Education in 3D Systems (2018). Dr. Lennex has served three times as MSU Faculty Senate President (02-03, 19-20, 24-25). For the Information Technology and Teacher Education (SITE) international organization, she has served as the Chair of Special Interest Groups (SIG) social science education (2019-2022), science education (2017-2019) and information technology education (2008-2014). Dr. Lennex is a former high school teacher of biology, chemistry, physics, and ecology.
