Bio:

Katie Merrell Grew up on a Dairy Farm in Northeast Ohio. She spent weekends at 4-H horse shows and took care of animals. She worked as a veterinary assistant for a small animal practice in Morehead, Kentucky, while in undergrad at Morehead State. She graduated in 2016 with her associate’s degree in veterinary technology, then obtained her bachelor’s degree in 2017 in Veterinary Technology. In 2018, she earned a master’s degree in agriculture at Murray State University with a Veterinary Practice Management Certificate. She works weekends at a large equine hospital in Lexington, Kentucky.

Merrell Joined the Veterinary Technology Program at Morehead State in October 2016. She teaches a wide range of courses, including Practice Management, Large Animals, Anatomy, and Anesthesia. She brings a wide variety of knowledge of both small and large animals.

She loves spending time with her husband and fur children while working on the farm.
