Selected Awards and Honors

Dr. Moore has received numerous awards for her work, including being selected as a Finalist for the 2022 edition of the René Carcan International Prize for Printmaking and the Mississippi Institute of Arts and Letters Photography Award. Dr. Moore has been the recipient of numerous artist residencies, including a full fellowship to the Vermont Studio Center (VT), the Jentel Artist Residency Program in Sheridan, Wyoming and the Signal Fire Outpost residency in Portland, Oregon. She also served as an artist-in-residence at San Juan National Forest (CO) and Hot Springs National Park (AR). Dr. Moore was awarded the Commonwealth of Australia's International Postgraduate Research Scholarship from 2011 to 2014. During her time at MSU, Dr. Moore has received two Summer Faculty Fellowship creative production grants. In 2022, Dr. Moore was awarded the Distinguished Creative Production Award by Morehead State University.

Bio

Robyn Moore is a photomedia-based artist whose work explores how alternative and experimental photographic processes can reveal the unseen worlds and beings around us. Dr. Moore’s research interests include deep time, biosemiotics, geology, paleontology, phenomenology, empathic imagining and how images can help us facilitate understanding of and solidarity with other forms of life.

Dr. Moore’s work has been exhibited nationally and internationally, including at the South Australian Museum, the National Archives of Australia, Gold Street Studios (Australia), FotoNostrum Gallery in Barcelona, Spain, the Centre for Print Research in Bristol, England, Bibliotheca Wittockiana in Brussels, Belgium, Yerevan International Print Biennale (Armenia), the Cincinnati Contemporary Art Center, Houston Center for Photography, Soho Photo Gallery, The Halide Project, The Image Flow Photography Center, Remarque Print Workshop, Manhattan Graphics Center, Washington Printmakers Gallery, The Photographer’s Eye Collective and Gallery in Escondido CA, Manifest Creative Research Gallery and Drawing Center in Cincinnati OH, and Bradbury Art Museum at Arkansas State University.

Awards and honors for Dr. Moore’s work include selection as the 2024 South Arts Southern Prize and State Fellowship recipient for Kentucky, winning the professional series alternative processes category at the 23rd Julia Margaret Cameron Awards for Women Photographers, selection as a Finalist for the 2022 René Carcan International Prize for Printmaking, a Great Meadows Foundation Artist Professional Development Grant, the Uncommon Art Residency award sponsored by the Teton Art Lab in Jackson, Wyoming, a Juried Residency award at Grand Marais Art Colony, and fully funded art residencies at Jentel Artist Residency Program, Vermont Studio Center, San Juan National Forest, and Hot Springs National Park.
