MSU hosts ‘Dolores’ screening for Hispanic Heritage Month

Dolores Movie Screening FlierAs part of Morehead State University’s celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, the Eagle Diversity Education Center (EDEC) will be presenting a virtual film screening of “Dolores” at 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 24.

“Dolores” tells the story of Dolores Huerta, a lesser known but pivotal political activist in American history who, along with Cesar Chavez, co-founded the first farmworkers union in America.

Dr. Cory Clark, assistant director of EDEC, said he is a fan of films and discussions because it provides a way to learn and process what they have seen with others. He also said at a time when America is seeing a lot of political activism and civil unrest, screening “Dolores” seemed even more appropriate.

“It kind of fits perfectly in a great way to kind of honor her but also educate people about what she’s done,” Clark said.
