MSU College of Education earns Golden Weave Award
Morehead State University continues to build on its reputation and legacy of preparing future educators with its most recent recognition.
MSU's Ernst and Sara Lane Volgenau College of Education (VCOE) faculty and staff are the proud recipients of the Golden Weave Award. This award, presented to faculty at their Opening Day Meeting this past August, honors the College of Education's outstanding record of Assessment Report Returns.
In both 2022 and 2023, VCOE was the first college or division to have 100% of their reports completed and returned. This is particularly impressive when factoring in delays caused by the June 2023 campus cyberattack. The Volgenau College of Education faculty and staff retrieved their assessment data for all their programs.
"Completing the assessment report is not everybody's favorite occupation. Faculty and staff aren't clamoring to turn to fill it out," said Dr. Kim Nettleton (Class of 2009), director of university assessment for MSU's Office of Planning, Performance and Effectiveness. "It seemed to me that a fun acknowledgment of the effort to have all of the reports turned in first should be provided."
Currently, the Golden Weave Award for 2024-25 is open to all MSU colleges and divisions within the University.
