Craft Academy graduation ceremony is May 10

The Craft Academy for Excellence in Science & Mathematics will graduate 89 students in the Class of 2025 at 4 p.m. Saturday, May 10, in the Adron Doran University Center Ballrooms.   

The Craft Academy graduation speaker is Katherine Black from Pendelton County. She is the daughter of Kathleen Black and Daniel Black.  

Black will attend Marshall University in the fall as a member of MU’s Honors College, where she will double-major in Criminal Justice and Cyber Forensics & Security.  

A reception will immediately follow the ceremony in the open-air space and Ballroom C of ADUC.  

The Craft Academy for Excellence in Science & Mathematics is a dual-credit academy for academically exceptional Kentucky students. Craft Academy provides students with postsecondary residential experience to complete their junior and senior high school years by enrolling in college courses.  

The Class of 2025 will be the ninth graduating class from the Craft Academy since opening in 2015. According to various reviews, it ranks among the top high schools in the United States. Most students come from east of I-64, including many from eastern Kentucky. For the 2024-25 academic year, the Craft Academy has a record enrollment of 237 students, making it the largest dual-credit academy in Kentucky.
