Morehead State Spring Commencement is May 10

The commencement ceremonies for spring 2025 graduates will be held at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 10, in the Academic-Athletic Center (AAC).

The 10 a.m. ceremony will recognize graduates from the Ernst & Sara Lane Volgenau College of Education and the College of Science & Engineering.

The 2 p.m. ceremony will recognize graduates from the Caudill College of Arts, Humanities & Social Sciences, and the Elmer R. Smith College of Business & Technology.

Emma Brock and Hallie Adams are the student speakers for the 2025 Spring Commencement.

Emma Brock PhotoEmma Brock of Corbin is the commencement speaker representing the College of Science & Engineering. She is the daughter of Billy and Vikki Brock and the sister of Morgan and Taylor Brock. She will graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience with a minor in Mathematics.

A graduate of the Craft Academy for Excellence in Science & Mathematics (Class of 2022), Brock earned the George M. Luckey, Jr., Honors Scholarship in 2022 and made the Dean's List every semester as an undergraduate student. As an Honors Undergraduate Research Fellow, Brock received an Exceptional Merit Award at the Celebration of Student Scholarship in 2022 and 2023. She was also selected for the KYINBRE Internship at the University of Kentucky in 2023. MSU's neuroscience program named Brock the Outstanding Neuroscience Junior in 2023 and Outstanding Neuroscience Senior in 2024. Brock plans to earn a Ph.D. in Neuroscience at the University of Florida upon graduation.

Hallie Adams PhotoHallie Adams of Flemingsburg is the commencement speaker representing the Caudill College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences. She is the daughter of Stevie and Cathy Adams and the sister of Case Adams. She will graduate with a Bachelor of Arts in Media Production & Journalism with minors in Photography and Social Media.

A recipient of the Rocky Burke Scholarship and the Communication Enrichment Scholarship, Adams maintained a 4.0 GPA every year as an undergraduate student and gained significant professional experience outside the classroom as a media professional. She was a weather anchor for MSUTV's NewsCenter her first year. She worked for four years as a reporter and board operator for Morehead State Public Radio. In the fall of 2023, Adams was a media personnel intern for the Kentucky Center for Traditional Music and began working for The Trail Blazer, Morehead State's independent, student-run newspaper. She started as a staffer and worked up to editor-in-chief her senior year.

The Spring Commencement will include the commissioning of ROTC officers:

  • Annalee Marie Taylor Denniston – Lexington, KY
  • Allison Brooke Ferguson – Versailles, KY
  • Tucker Chase Meadows – Kitts Hill, OH
  • Lucas J. Osborn – Waynesville, OH

The event will not require tickets for guests or graduates, and there is no limit on the number of guests who may attend. Guest seating will be on a first-come, first-served basis, and the venue will not mandate social distancing. Department of Music, Theatre & Dance students and faculty will provide special music.
