MSU faculty named to national recognition list
Dr. Bernadette Barton, professor of sociology in Morehead State University’s Department of Sociology, Social Work and Criminology, has been named among the “100 Women We Love, Class of 2025” by GO Magazine.
Every June, the publication recognizes influential women who have contributed significantly to their fields. Barton was selected for her professional achievements, ongoing contributions, and role as a mentor and role model.
“It is an honor to be selected for ‘100 Women We Love, Class of 2025’ in such inspiring company,” Barton said.
At MSU, Barton teaches sociology and gender studies, coordinates the gender studies program, and is recognized for her scholarship. She has published extensively and presented her work at conferences across the country. Barton also mentors students and fosters inclusive, supportive learning environments.
Barton joined MSU’s faculty in 2000 and has actively contributed to campus life, advancing diversity and inclusion efforts and helping prepare students for careers in sociology, gender studies, and related fields.
