MSU Theatre Presents Student-Directed Productions
Morehead State University’s Department of Music & Theatre invites audiences to experience two powerful one-act plays as part of its fall season.
The combined student-directed productions of Harold Pinter’s “The Lover” and Edward Albee’s “The Zoo Story” will be performed Sept. 25-27 at 7:30 p.m. and Sept. 28 at 2 p.m. in the Lucille Little Caudill Theatre in Breckinridge Hall.
Directed by MSU theatre students Natalie Shoemaker and Caleb Hoppe, these productions highlight the department’s commitment to student creativity, leadership, and professional training.
Albee’s “The Zoo Story,” directed by Hoppe, follows an unexpected encounter between two strangers in a New York park. What begins as small talk between Peter (Hayden Maples) and Jerry (Brie Yates) escalates into a gripping confrontation about isolation, connection, and the human condition.
Pinter’s “The Lover,” directed by Shoemaker, is a psychological exploration of marriage and desire. Richard (Mannie Jones) and Sarah (Abby Lewis) appear to be a conventional couple, but their relationship is complicated by elaborate roleplay and games of infidelity.
