MSU Board of Regents Holds Homecoming Meeting

The Morehead State University Board of Regents held its Homecoming meeting Friday, Oct. 17.

The board reviewed a series of recommendations, recognitions and reports from University leadership.

As part of the consent agenda, the board approved minutes from the Aug. 8, 2025, meeting; ratified personnel actions and summer graduates; and approved new academic certificates and the contract with MSU Head Men's Basketball Coach, Jonathan Mattox to extend through March 31, 2028.

Regents also approved a resolution to authorize the president to work with the City of Morehead to rename Nickell Alley to University Boulevard, endorsed several asset preservation projects, including renovations to the 3rd, 4th and 5th floors and exterior of Camden-Carroll Library.

Additional recommendations approved by the board included adoption of the Employee Compensation Plan, approval of the Campus Master Plan, and ratification of the 2026–28 biennial state budget request.

During the meeting, the board recognized several members of the MSU community for their achievements, including the Women’s Golf Team, Space Systems Engineering Instructor Nathan Fite (Class of 2011), and Director of Procurement Services Andrea Stone, J.D. (Class of 2008, 2011).

Following the open session, the board entered a closed executive session under KRS 61.810(b) and (c) to discuss matters related to real estate and pending litigation. No action was taken during the closed session.

After adjournment, the Ad-Hoc Bylaws Review Committee reviewed the Board of Regents Bylaws.
