MSU Foundation Announces Planned Gift from Edwin ‘Eddie’ Reid
The Morehead State University Foundation is proud to announce a significant planned gift from MSU alum Edwin “Eddie” Reid (Class of 1984). Reid, a resident of Owingsville, gifted his 150-acre farm to the MSU Foundation.
This generous contribution will create an endowment fund to benefit MSU’s Department of Agricultural Sciences, providing enhanced educational opportunities for future generations of students. In addition, a portion of the gift will support the North Central 4-H Camp in Carlisle, reinforcing Reid’s lifelong dedication to agriculture and youth development.
“This planned gift is a thoughtful and impactful way to give back,” said Allison Caudill (Class of 2005, 2009), CEO of the MSU Foundation. “Mr. Reid’s generosity will create lasting opportunities for our agricultural sciences students and strengthen programs that serve youth across our region. We are deeply grateful for his vision and commitment to education.”
Reid, who earned an associate degree from MSU, exemplified the spirit of giving back to his alma mater and community. His legacy will continue to make a difference for years to come.
As part of this planned gift, an auction for Reid’s farm will take place at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, November 22, on-site. The farm is at 1394 Peeled Oak Road, Owingsville, KY 40360. Proceeds from the sale will fund the endowment and support the designated programs.
