Applications open for Morehead State's SpaceTrek 2026
Applications are now open for SpaceTrek 2026, a two-week residential summer program that introduces young women to space systems engineering and aerospace careers at Morehead State University.
SpaceTrek is designed for girls in rising ninth through twelfth grades, as well as rising college freshmen, who are interested in science, engineering, technology and mathematics. The immersive program gives participants hands-on experience with the core elements of a space mission while building the skills and confidence needed to pursue aerospace-related degrees and careers.
During the program, students work through a curriculum that mirrors real-world aerospace operations. Participants build and launch a scientific instrument, operate a satellite tracking station to collect data, and analyze and present mission results.
The experience provides a practical introduction to aerospace engineering concepts while emphasizing teamwork, problem-solving, and technical communication.
SpaceTrek will be held July 7–20, 2026, on the Morehead State University campus. The program cost is $1,000, and scholarships are available to all participants to help ensure access for students from a variety of backgrounds.
The application deadline for SpaceTrek 2026 is March 15, 2026.
