  • Emma Hardy, a junior veterinary technology major from Campbell County, was recognized for her academic dedication and involvement in the program and the Equestrian Team. She plans to pursue a career in mixed animal practice.

During the meeting, the board approved minutes from previous meetings, ratified personnel actions and fall 2025 graduates, and authorized several campus initiatives.

The board also approved acceptance of the audit reports and related documents, the first quarter financial report and operating budget, as well as land acquisition and disposal of property.

Reports were presented on research and contracts, the Quality Enhancement Plan, performance metrics, the capital campaign and facility naming opportunities, and future plans to decommission Cartmell Hall.

The president also provided updates on state-level funding and legislative matters.

Following the meeting, regents attended a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new Veterinary Technology Facilities and a dedication of the Equine Health and Education Building in honor of Professor Emeritus Dr. Phil Prater at the Derrickson Agricultural Complex.
