Spring Career & Internship Fair is Feb. 25
Morehead State University is committed to helping our students succeed by providing opportunities to connect with potential employers.
MSU will host its Spring Career & Internship Fair from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 25, in the third-floor ballrooms of the Adron Doran University Center (ADUC). MSU students and alumni from all majors are encouraged to attend.
At MSU's Career & Internship Fair, you can connect with regional, state, and nationwide employers and graduate programs while learning about full-time and part-time jobs, internships, co-ops, and graduate schools. Students who attend the Career & Internship Fair can also receive a free professional headshot that they can use on their LinkedIn page and other social media accounts.
"The Career & Internship Fair is an opportunity for our students to connect with employers and graduate programs who are choosing to come to our campus and recruit our students. This speaks to the hands-on experiences and career skills that our students develop within their majors," said Megan Boone, director of the Center for Career Development and Experiential Education. "We work hard to prepare students who meet the workforce needs of employers."
Career Development Coordinator Gabria Sexton (Class of 2007, 2022) encourages first-year and second-year students to take advantage of the event.
"Networking and connections are the building blocks of your career, long before graduation. You don't have to have your future figured out yet — you just have to be curious enough to explore it," Sexton said. "Come meet people, ask questions, and discover options available to you, such as internships or job shadowing."
Hunter McGlone, a senior chemistry major from Olive Hill thinking about a career in teaching, said, "I've enjoyed making connections with employers at the fair. The event gives me the opportunity to have these real-world discussions with employers before I step into the interview. It helps me feel prepared."
Students should prepare to make the most of their time at the Career & Internship Fair. This includes:
- Dressing professionally
- Bringing copies of your resume
- Planning a proper introduction
- Researching companies and schools in attendance
Potential employee recruiters can now register for the Career & Internship Fair. Attendees can find out who they can meet at the fair online or by downloading the free Symplicity Jobs and Career App.
