Emmy Award®-winning director to visit Morehead State
Morehead State University will host a special lecture and two-day hands-on workshop on digital art and design production featuring Emmy Award®-winning creative director Limbert Fabian.
The lecture is from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, March 24, in the Sue Y. Luckey Ballrooms at the Adron Doran University Center. The lecture is free and open to the public.
Participants can also attend a hands-on workshop from 1 to 3 p.m. on March 24 and March 26 in Room 302 of Breckinridge Hall. The workshop is free, but pre-registration is required.
In addition to the lecture and workshops, an exhibition related to the visit will be on display March 16–27, from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., at the Claypool-Young Art Gallery. A reception for the exhibition will take place from 5 to 7 p.m. on March 27.
"The special lecture and hands-on workshop will provide an opportunity for students, creative practitioners, and local communities in Kentucky to have a deeper understanding of creative processes in digital art and design industries from professional practitioners," said Dr. Siriporn Peters, assistant professor of art & design.
These events will bring together students, faculty, staff, creative practitioners and members of the local community for an immersive learning experience focused on the creative process behind professional digital art and design. Fabian, a renowned practitioner from Dallas, Texas, will share insights from his work in animation, branded entertainment, and immersive media.
Fabian is an Emmy Award®-winning director known for imaginative, industry-defining animated content and branded entertainment projects for major clients, including Chipotle, Dolby, Gatorade, and Samsung. His work has been recognized by leading organizations in the creative field, including the Society of Illustrators, Communication Arts and American Illustration. Over the course of his career, Fabian has earned numerous industry honors, including multiple Cannes Lions, Clio Awards, and Webby Awards.
In recent years, Fabian has expanded his creative work into immersive entertainment. He is also a co-founder of Flight School Studio and The Department of Wonder, organizations focused on innovative storytelling and creative production.
