Morehead State Board of Regents to meet March 27

The Morehead State University Board of Regents will meet at MSU at Prestonsburg on March 27, 2026. They will review financial updates, approve key institutional actions and recognize student achievement.

The meeting will open with a welcome from Dr. Todd Brand, president of Big Sandy Community & Technical College. This will be followed by a recognition of Victoria Daniels, a junior majoring in Early Elementary Education at MSU in Prestonsburg.

As part of the consent agenda, the board plans to approve several routine and academic items, including:

  • Ratification of winter graduates
  • New academic certificates
  • Faculty tenure and promotion recommendations
  • Student Government Association and Staff Congress bylaw updates
  • Asset preservation projects
  • Coaching contract extensions

The board will approve financial and strategic measures to support the University’s continued operations and growth. This includes quarterly financial reports and ratifying an amended operating budget.

Among the key actions, the board plans to also approve:

  • The 2026–27 tuition, housing and fee schedule
  • Acquisition of university land and disposal of property
  • Naming of the new residence hall as Martin Hall
  • Naming of the Central Bank Lobby within Martin Hall

In his report, MSU President Dr. Jay Morgan will provide a legislative update, highlighting ongoing developments affecting higher education in Kentucky.

The board will also enter a closed executive session to discuss matters related to real estate, as permitted under Kentucky law.
