Morehead State University welcomes educators for statewide Vibrant Learning Conference
More than 180 educators representing school districts across Kentucky gathered at Morehead State University for the Vibrant Learning Conference, a statewide professional learning event focused on advancing student-centered, authentic learning experiences.
Hosted in partnership with the Kentucky Department of Education's Vibrant Learning Collaborative, the conference provided educators with opportunities to explore innovative instructional practices, collaborate with colleagues from across the Commonwealth and strengthen their understanding of vibrant learning principles that foster student engagement, ownership of learning and real-world application. The Vibrant Learning Collaborative helps educators explore practical classroom strategies while advancing Kentucky's United We Learn vision for the future of education.
"The Vibrant Learning Conference reflects the very best of what happens when educators come together to share ideas, inspire innovation and focus on what's most important, student learning," said Dr. Nicola Mason (Class of 2007), dean of MSU’s Volgenau College of Education.
"We were proud to welcome more than 180 educators from across Kentucky to our campus and support the ongoing work of creating meaningful, authentic learning experiences that empower students to thrive in an ever-changing world."
Throughout the conference, participants engaged in presentations, collaborative discussions and professional learning sessions centered on the core principles of vibrant learning, including relevance, authenticity, student agency, and joyful learning. Educators explored ways to enhance existing curricula and instructional resources while learning from colleagues and presenters from across the state.
The event also provided valuable networking opportunities for teachers, administrators, instructional coaches and education leaders committed to improving outcomes for students through engaging and meaningful learning experiences. By bringing together educators from diverse districts and backgrounds, the conference fostered collaboration and the exchange of innovative practices that can be implemented in classrooms throughout Kentucky.

Morehead State University was one of four host institutions selected for the Kentucky Department of Education's 2nd Annual Vibrant Learning Collaborative "College Road Trip," joining the University of Kentucky, Murray State University and the University of the Cumberlands in bringing educators together from across the Commonwealth to reimagine meaningful and engaging learning experiences for Kentucky students.
