Morehead State announces newest members of Board of Regents

Dr. DuWayne Dale HeadshotThe Morehead State University Board of Regents recently welcomed its newest members.

At its quarterly meeting on Friday, Aug. 7, the MSU Board swore in Dr. DuWayne Dale (Class of 1998, 2007) and Molly Boyd.

Dr. DuWayne Dale is director of bands and an associate professor of music. He joined the faculty of Morehead State in 2017 after 18 years of teaching high school bands and orchestras in public schools in Ohio and Kentucky. During that time, he also served as an adjunct in music education and as a private applied faculty member at Kentucky Wesleyan College and as a regional arts specialist for the Kentucky Department of Education.

Dale holds a Bachelor of Music Education and a Master of Music degree from Morehead State University. He completed his Rank I in music education and conducting at the University of Kentucky and his Master of Business Administration through Western Governors University. His Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Music Education was completed at Boston University.

Molly Boyd HeadshotMolly Boyd is the president of MSU's Student Government Association. A senior finance major from Prestonsburg, she served on SGA as Secretary of Public Relations for the 2025-26 academic year and the Junior Representative for the 2024-25 academic year.

Boyd also serves as the vice president of programming for Panhellenic, the president of Order of Omega, and the president of Tau Sigma. She is also a member of the Kappa Tau chapter of Delta Zeta.

The Board of Regents is MSU's governing body (per Kentucky Revised Statutes 164.350), dedicated to the promotion of the goals and vision of the University.
